Gaslighting the
residents of 91Ö±²¥
I watched on the news the other night. State Sen. Brenton Awa and state Rep. Diamond Garcia, backed by the rest of the Republican Caucus, proudly announced their no-state-taxes proposal.
What they failed to mention was which funded programs they would defund, because as we all know, it takes money to support the social safety network as well as all infrastructure.
After the governor’s address, Garcia said we should not be going back on our word and delaying the promised tax cuts until 2029.
Knowing full well that the delay is caused by Trump and the Republicans in the House and Senate clawing back funding that was congressionally previously approved to the tune of $2 billion dollars, and that the Trump regime’s agenda is causing harm to 91Ö±²¥’s economy, they engaged in gaslighting the people of 91Ö±²¥.
If their proposal were adopted, it would result in the same kind of growing fiscal deficit that happened in Trump’s first term and increase in his second term.
Gaslighting is something Trump has indulged in his entire life, and the entire Republican Party has adopted this strategy.
Don’t fall for their BS. They are the party of fiscal irresponsibility and demonization of minorities, the party of masked thugs masquerading as law enforcement.

Kudos for response
by Animal Control
91Ö±²¥ County Animal Control often gets a bad rap. We want to commend two young AC officers for their response to a recent situation regarding loose dogs in Ocean View.
Officers Kobe and Kaley responded promptly and got the issue resolved. They are both dedicated employees, well-trained, personable and knowledgeable.
Please see that their supervisor gets a copy of this letter of commendation.
If our country relies on young adults like Kobe and Kaley, it will be a beautiful world. We need people like them.

What makes humans
different than beasts?
What separates man from beast? Is it the ability to think? Nay, animals can think, find solutions and even use tools, if needed.
Is it social hierarchy? Nay, many animals have social structure, albeit primitive.
So, what makes us different than beasts? I say it is the yearning for creation, nigh endless ambition, and the comprehensive understanding of concepts! We strive to create something for ourselves, whether it’s art, technology or a lasting legacy.
Any ignorant animal can destroy great things, but it takes a certain cleverness to create, no matter the challenges surrounding. Our ambition and passion allow us to persist through almost any condition or environment.
Finally, our ability to understand concepts allows for synthesis and further development of said concepts. “We think, therefore we are!”
However, with emerging technologies such as social media and artificial intelligence, we are slowly devolving back into those beasts of old.
We sap our drive for greatness with comparisons, cheat our way through adversity with uncomfortable pressure, and lose the ability for synthesis, innovation and persistence by hiding in conformity, complacency and comfort.
We punish ourselves for being unique, thinking of new solutions, and not being “good enough.” Maybe we’ll never be good enough, and that’s OK, but you’ll never know until you start working your way there!
So, what separates us from animals? If not everything above, then nothing.
