Kona attorney confirmed as District Court judge
The 91Ö±²¥ State Senate on Tuesday voted to confirm Andrew Michael Kennedy to serve as a 91Ö±²¥ Island District Court judge, following his appointment by Acting Chief Justice Sabrina S. McKenna.
Kennedy, 48, is a partner at Schlueter, Kwiat and Kennedy LLLP, where he maintains an active trial practice with experience in both civil and criminal litigation. He has practiced law for over 20 years across multiple jurisdictions and has argued before the 91Ö±²¥ Supreme Court.
Kennedy earned his bachelor of arts degree from Villanova University and his juris doctor from Suffolk University School of Law. He has been licensed to practice law in 91Ö±²¥ since 2012 and is also admitted in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York.
In addition to his legal practice, Kennedy is active in public service and the legal community, including leadership roles with the West 91Ö±²¥ Bar Association.

Kennedy will serve a six-year term on the bench.
