Investigate child abuse allegations against Trump

Records recently released by the U.S. Department of Justice include four interviews by the FBI with a woman who reports being sexually and physically abused by Donald Trump in her early teens (“Justice Department publishes missing Epstein files involving accusation against Trump,” March 6).

When asked by FBI agents in 2019 whether she would be willing to provide more information about the incident in the context of an investigation, the woman declined, asking, “what the point would be of providing the information at this point in her life when there was a strong possibility nothing could be done about it.”

Her skepticism is understandable.

It might be that the statute of limitations has run out on any sort of criminal case involving the alleged abuse. However, the larger issue of fitness of a person to serve as president of the United States demands investigation into the facts surrounding this incident.

People who could help get to the truth are still alive and could be interviewed. If President Trump is exonerated, so be it.

It is clear, though, that most Americans would not accept having a sitting president who is a pedophile.

The power of the ocean amidst an ‘evil force’

So, I’m sitting in a chair in a bar in Kona watching the waves crash against the seawall. The sound is soothing and then vibrant.

Kona winds are the deception in so-called paradise. They push against the trees in the opposite direction they generally protect themselves from.

Isn’t that a nice analogy for our present situation?

Just think, years of roots growing strongly, abating the winds from the east. Years pass by with no issues caused by those winds.

And suddenly, without notice, the opposite gains power and knocks down trees and fauna.

We passed a section of highway where the water breached the roadway. The debris was everywhere and obviously signaling the danger once it overcame the stream barrier.

This is just like the world we are experiencing now!

The feeling of having control of your existence has been interrupted by an evil force. The cries of, “What must we do to subdue the evil that engulfs us?”

As I stare out on the ocean, watching those waves, I’m reminded that the power of the ocean always overcomes.

And we must overcome, despite the rancid stupidity presented to us by the evil one.

Waves don’t stop. They follow their journey to the shore and return to the ocean.

We must take solace in that fact!
