County Prosecutor Kelden Waltjen said Wednesday a 33-year-old Hilo man is serving 10 years in prison for a series of identify theft and computer fraud offenses that occurred between August 2024 and January 2025.
Hilo Circuit Judge Peter Kubota on March 23 sentenced Christopher Amador-Nascimento for second-degree computer fraud, six counts of first-degree theft, and 11 counts of second-degree identity theft.
Amador-Nascimento pleaded guilty to the charges on Oct. 26, 2025.
According to police reports, Amador-Nascimento opened up credit card accounts using victims鈥� personal information, conducted unauthorized credit card transactions, and also used accounts to deposit stolen funds and then withdraw the money.
