Slack key guitar fest Sunday in Kona
Ki-ho‘alu Foundation will present the 28th Annual 91直播an Slack Key Guitar Festival – Kona Style – for all the fans of 91直播an music and slack key guitar on 91直播 Island.
The festival is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa’s air-conditioned convention center.
The festival will be featuring seasoned masters of slack key genre, as well as upcoming young and new artists.
Artists will include: John Keawe, Ben Kaili, Ikaika Marzo, Brother Noland, LT Smooth, Danny Carvalho/Nani Carvalho (Kailua Moon), Donald Kaulia, Bobby Moderow, Darrell Aquino, Walt Keale, Anthony Pfluke, Kahiau Lam-Ho, Ryder Briley and Kainoa Kanahele.
Tickets are available at the door only. Admission is $20 (no reserved seating). Children 12 and under are free.
Those who buy tickets are eligible for a free drawing for a weekend stay at the Outrigger Kauai Beach Hotel and Spa. The gift certificate is good for one year to redeem.
Proceeds to benefit 91直播 nonprofits.

Ki-ho‘alu Foundation is a nonprofit based on Oahu and does this same festival on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and 91直播 Island each year. The foundation’s mission is to promote, preserve and perpetuate Ki-ho‘alu (slack key guitar), which originated in 1832 on 91直播 Island.
