Born in Honolulu, she was a Hilo icon who worked more than a half-century in the hospitality industry at the Hilo 91Ö±²¥an Hotel and the former Hilo Lagoon Hotel and a life member of ‘Ahahui ‘Olelo Hawai‘i, ‘Aha Manaleo, and the Kuni Pi‘olani 91Ö±²¥an Civic Club, and was a must interview yearly on the telecast of the Merrie Monarch Festival’s hula competition.
