The 91Ö±²¥ Concert Society has announced its 2025-2026 season of classical music. Seven concerts are scheduled, all at the UH Hilo Performing Arts Center, and all start at 7 p.m.

The season features “exceptional artists from around the world,” according to HCS.

The season opens on Wednesday, Sept. 17, with a violin and accordion duo from Poland, Karolina & Iwo, performing well-loved classical repertoire “with bold, new and delightfully original sounds.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the HCS will present Scottish guitarist, Paul Galbraith, who plays an eight-stringed instrument of his own design that sets him apart in the classical guitar world.

The new year begins with music written mostly in the 1700s and mainly by Haydn, for a string trio consisting of viola, cello and the now little-known instrument, the baryton, which was hugely popular in the 18th century. The Valencia Baryton Project will bring this ancient instrument and this major part of Haydn’s body of compositions back to life on Jan. 14.

On Feb. 18, the Parker Quartet, resident string quartet at Harvard University, will present a deep dive into some of Franz Schubert’s late and very poignant music.

The remainder of the season features three sets of musicians who have appeared several times in previous HCS seasons.

The three women who make up the celebrated Eroica Trio will once again perform, and two pianists, Soyeon Lee and Ran Dank, will be back in early April for a concert of solo and four-hands music.

Finally, the perennial Hilo favorite, pianist Joyce Yang, together with Honolulu’s Spring Wind Quintet, will close the season with music for wind quintet, solo piano and piano sextet.

The 2025-26 season brochure providing additional information is now available, and season tickets may be ordered using the form in the brochure, or by using the either the printable order form at hawaiiconcertsociety.org or the form on the HCS Facebook page.

The brochure is available by phoning (808) 959-4064. To obtain tickets by return mail before the first concert, orders should be received on or before Sept. 8. Otherwise they may be picked up at the box office on the evening of the first concert on Sept. 17.
