He was a heavy equipment operator for Yamada and Sons Inc., former owner of Atiz Nursery and E&R Dozer service and member of the former Sampaguita Club. Maraea May Chun, 93, of Hilo died March 6 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a civilian secretary for the U.S. Navy Secretary and worked for the former Continental Airlines and Westinghouse. Barbara Jean Matola Gribbin, 79, of Hilo, formerly of Bordentown, N.J., died March 12 at a care home in Keaau. She was an elementary school teacher at St. Mary School and Kamehameha Schools, aine artist and founding parishioner of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Honomu. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery.
